The 10th Annual Youth Car Wash will take place again on Sunday, July 10 and August 14, from 8:30am to 11:00am.
Cost: ANY donation
Please invite your neighbors to bring their cars for a wash. All proceeds go to support the Youth Mission and Chapel Choir.
The 5th Annual Downers Grove Garden Walk, sponsored by the Bridge Board, will be on Saturday, July 9, from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Tickets are now available at Dream Interiors on Main, Phillips Flowers on Ogden, Community Bank of Downers Grove on Warren, or here at FUMC in the church office.

July 6FIELD TRIP!!! Let’s go on a trip to the firehouse on Main Street. We will meet at the church and walk to the firehouse together. This is the only Wednesday for which you need to sign-up because we can only take 30 children. There will be a sign-up sheet in the church office.

Belford Hernandez has accepted another position at an area church which represents a wonderful opportunity for Belford and his family.
To thank Belford for 11 wonderful years of music ministry to our congregation, we will hold a special reception in honor of his service to the church and chapel choir this coming Sunday, July 3, in Fellowship Hall, following the 10:00am service.

June 27-July 1The First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove is offering a summer camp experience for children and youth. There will be three camps this year:
Brain Science and the Biology of BeliefCarol Lysne will lead a discussion of Why God Won’t Go Away: Brain Science and the Biology of Belief, by Andrew Newberg and Eugene d'Aquili.
Volunteers are needed to work the parking lot, volunteers will each work a 3 hour shift.
On Fathers Day, June 19, the Membership Committee will be hosting an Ice Cream Social after the 10AM worship service. Please plan on stopping by to welcome summer and honor the men and fathers of our congregation with some ice cream! The event will be held outside in the breeze way between the chapel and the entrance to the church.

June 15School is out...let’s party! Coach Josh from the Downers Grove Park District will be our DJ for the evening. This will be a great way to start the summer! There will be great music, fun games, lots of dancing, lemonade, and other treats!
