Pastor Jim McDonald is leading a series of discussions based on Rob Bell's Nooma videos on Wednesday mornings at 10am.

Join us for the kick-off of the 2011-2012 Men's Huddle, October 4th, 2011 from 6:15am to 7:30am in Fellowship Hall. Our guest speaker is Jim Morrissey from the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears.

The meeting begins at noon as Mary-Elizabeth and Ruth Circles hostess a lunch followed by a program: "Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity" – presented by Verla Boyle and Julie Stone as they share information they learned on the UMW study at the School of Christian Mission this summer.

Believing in God is important, but what about God believing in us? Believing that we can actually be the kind of people we were meant to be. People of love, compassion, peace, forgiveness, and hope. 

One cannot understand religion without understanding the mind and brain,
and one cannot understand the mind and brain without understanding religion.

This is an opportunity for both the Youth of DGFUMC and the Kiwanis Club of Downers Grove to raise money for Youth activities.

We need students, parents and other adults to help.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes shawls for those who are ill, grieving, experiencing particularly challenging times or to those who are celebrating special joys.

Anyone interested in knitting or crocheting is welcome.  Instruction is available at all meetings for anyone who has never knitted before. Come!  You are welcome.

This is first meeting of the school year. We will have snacks, games and time to meet new and old friends!
