If your child has turned 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2019, we invite you to let them join the Angel Choir.
The first rehearsal for our Angel Choir will be on Wednesday, September 11h at 4:30 pm. Debbie Phillips will be returning as Angel Choir director and Dave Sandfort as our accompanist.
The Chancel Choir is the adult choir of the First United Methodist Church, Downers Grove. It provides music each week for the 11:00am service and performs two cantatas each year at Christmas and in the spring. New members are most cordially invited!

The Chapel Choir has a rich history at First United Methodist Church. Since 1960, this choir led Sunday worship at the 9:30 Sunday morning service during the school year. They now collaborate with other choirs during the 10:00 a.m. service. The Chapel Choir is open to all high school youth regardless of musical abilities or background. You can start at any time throughout the year!
Cherub Choir Rehearsals are 5:00 - 5:45 pm every Wednesday
When the Cherub Choir sings in a service, they will warm up in Chapel Hall 1/2 hour before the service.
Exceptions to normal rehearsal times are:
Feb. 26, Mar. 4, 11 and 18 - Extended Rehearsals for Children's Cantata
Warm Ups when Chorister Choir sings in worship are 1/2 hour before the worship time
Chorister Choir Rehearsals are 5:00 - 5:45 pm every Wednesday

November 21, 2018 - Thanksgiving Eve - No Rehearsal
December 5, 12 and 19, 2018 - Christmas Eve Family Service Reading Rehearsals for children with reading parts - 4:30 - 5:00 pm
December 5, 12 and 19, 2018 - Extended Rehearsals for Christmas Eve Family Service

Performs periodically at the 9:30 and 11:00am services throughout the school year. The Westminster Handbell Ensemble travels to play preconcert and intermission music for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Concert, as well as performing at home for our own FUMC Handbells Christmas and Spring Extravaganzas.
If you are interested in ringing handbells, this is the place to be!
Handbells Mission Statement:
The Westminster Handbell Ensemble and Chancel Ringers of FUMC worship God through music.
The Worship Band brings a more contemporary flavor to the music at the 9:30 a.m. service on occasional Sundays, adding some rhythm and soul to the worship experience. The Worship Band is made up of volunteers from the congregation community, with Carolyn Donnelly (flute) directing.
