DGFUMC Worship Survey

The Worship Work Area requests your assistance in helping us understand what elements of worship provide you with a meaningful and rich experience. We are asking members to complete the survey below with your preferences and either mail it back to the church office, drop it off in the collection plate, or place it in the designated box in the hallway outside the sanctuary by June 25. Each member is encouraged to complete their own form. Additional comments are welcomed.

DGFUMC Recognition Scholarship

Each year DGFUMC recognizes college students who have been important leaders in the life of our church and who have completed at least one year of college with scholarships.

Students interested in applying for the scholarship may fill out an application (available below and in the church office) and return it to the office by June 25. Recipients will be announced in July and honored at the 10:00 a.m. worship service on August 6.

Children's Cantata - A Not So Terrible Parable

Join us on Sunday, April 30 at our 9:30 & 11:00 worship services as the Cherub, Chorister and Connection Children’s Choirs present their cantata of A Not So Terrible Parable – The Mysterious Whodunit about the Good Samaritan. Come and enjoy as the children bring to life the well-known story of The Good Samaritan as a fun, over-the-top whodunit.

Chancel Choir Spring Cantata - The Gift of Life

Join us on Palm Sunday, April 9 at our 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services as the Chancel Choir, with guest singers and accompanied by a guest orchestra, presents John Rutter’s long-awaited new major work, The Gift of Life. This six-movement choral work is a celebration of the living earth, of creation and of life itself; offering a kaleidoscope of moods from contemplative and prayerful, to majestic and inspirational.

Sponsor a Chapel Choir Tour Bus Seat Today!

The 46th Annual Chapel Choir Tour will take place March 25-April 1, 2017 and you can help us cover some expenses and Make it Easier to Get to the Big Easy by “sponsoring a bus seat” for $25. The cost of transportation is one of the largest line items in the tour budget, so offsetting some of the cost through seat sponsorships will help reduce the individual tour fee for choir members.

Aurora District Lay Academy

Spend Lent 2017 deepening your commitment. Learn the fundamentals of Lay Servanthood, discover the rich history of Methodism and open yourself to the transforming power of grace and spiritual disciplines in the Wesleyan tradition.

Classes are held on Sunday afternoons and run from March 5 through April 2, 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. at Orland Park First UMC 15101, S. 80th St.
