We are delighted to announce that Rev. Wesley Dorr will be joining our ministry team on December 1 as the Pastor of Youth Ministries. Wes is a 2005 graduate of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity and a certification in Christian Education and Church Leadership.
Sunday School begins on September 15 and Sunday School registration cards are due this week! Bring your registration card (mailed to all families along with Choir Registration information) to the church office during office hours to sign up. Every family needs to register annually, as this is how we collect emergency and allergy information for each child.

Make plans to join us on Rally Day as we kick-off our new year and celebrate our coming season of educational and musical ministries as a congregation on Sunday, September 9! We'll kick off our new year of Sunday School and prepare for the coming season.
Join the United Methodist Women in celebrating children and youth all over the world! In honor of this day, children and youth from our congregation will help lead the service and provide special music. Children of all ages are asked to bring their backpacks (or briefcases) to church at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Pastor John Smoke will give a blessing of the backpacks (and briefcases) to get the new school year (and work year) off to a great start! Each child is asked to also bring a non-perishable food item for donation to People's Resource Center.
The Ignite Youth Group is selling stock for this year’s Mission Trips. Stock is $10 and comes with an invitation to our Mission Trip Thank You Ice Cream Social on August 12, after the 10am Service in the Gym.
Stock is available for purchase in the parlor every Sunday morning through July 8 and in the church office throughout the week.

Join us as our children's choirs come together to present their cantata, "Let Your Light Shine" on Sunday, April 29 at the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Worship Services.
You will be entertained with songs and mini-skits, presented by the Cherub, Chorister and Connection Choirs!
On Sunday, April 15, the Chancel Choir will present their annual spring cantata. This year, they will perform The Holy Spirit Mass: Together in Hope, a wonderful choral work by the internationally renowned Norwegian composer, Kim André Arnesen, who writes music that combines touching simplicity with majestic power. The choir will be accompanied by a 17-piece string orchestra and guest singers.
As you know, Jim and Greta McDonald have announced that they will be retiring at the end of June 2018. We will miss them greatly. After knowing this, with input from our church, Bishop Sally Dyck, District Superintendent Dick Wisdom and the Northern Illinois Conference (NIC) Cabinet diligently worked to find the next Senior Pastor, Rev. Claude R.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
On Palm Sunday, March 25, we will hold a special Together@10 Service, where the 9:30 and 11:00 services will be combined into ONE service at 10:00 a.m. This is a great time to make new friends, re-connect with old friends and bring guests to visit our church.
Please note that the 8:15 a.m. service will still be held in the Chapel.
