Our first Adopt-a-Stream event on May 21 was a great success with 20 volunteers from the congregation helping to clean up a section of St. Joseph Creek.
Sign-up for our second event on October 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. is now underway and we hope that you will join us. Kids age 7 and up can participate with a guardian.
Are you looking for a new way to get involved at church?
S.O.S. - Share Our Skills will now be meeting on the THIRD Saturday of each month to tackle fix-it projects around the church. The group meets at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and then works from 9:00 to Noon.
Only have an hour that day? No problem, just stop in and stay as long as you can. Many hands make light work.
PLEASE NOTE: With our apologies, we have to change the “usual” date once again, from the 3rd Friday to the 2nd Friday.
All women from our church are invited to join the UMW for our Fall General Meeting. A light lunch will be served and child care will be provided.
The program will be presented by Roger Curless, Coordinator for the Aurora Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) site. Roger will speak on Latin America: People and Faith.

This fall you are invited to join an all church book study featuring Fear of the Other: No Fear in Love by William H. Willimon. In this book, Willimon invites readers to consider the gospel command to love (and not merely tolerate) those considered to be “Other” or outside mainstream Christian culture.
The study will run for five weeks and books can be purchased for $6.00 in the church office.
All are welcome to join our seniors Lunch Bunch group for lunch Downers Delight at 75th Street and Fairview Ave. We will meet at the restaurant at 11:30 a.m. If you need a ride or have any questions, please call Bonnie Lehmann at 630.308.2259 or the church office. The sign-up sheet is available in the parlor between worship services. Those in attendance are responsible for paying for their own meal.
