We are looking for gardeners, givers, growers, and green thumbs to nurture this seedling idea and help it take root and grow!

The Missions Work Area has secured a plot of land at Mar-Duke Farms on South Main Street, DG, which is dedicated to growing vegetables for the PRC. Individuals or families are invited to sign up for at least one 10' x 10' area to plant, water, weed, and harvest. Keep 50% or less of your produce and deliver the rest to the PRC in Westmont.

You've all seen David Letterman's Top Ten Lists. Well, the Membership Committee is creating a "Top Ten Reasons I Attend DGFUMC" and are looking for your input. Please have all family members complete the survey form attached below. You do not have to fill in all 10 spaces unless you have at least 10 reasons you attend. 3, 5, or 7 will do as well. The Membership Committee will be collecting your survey feedback throughout April via the collection plates, by emailing Ward Feste at [email protected] or by messaging your reasons to the DGFUMC Facebook page.

P.A.D.S. is in need of a morning crew supervisor for every other first Wednesday AM of the month. This is a 2-3 hour committment from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Training is available.

Spring is here and it is time for spring cleaning as well as our Church and Society Work Area's annual cleaning supply drive for the PRC!

We will be handing out buckets on April 15 and 22. We ask you to take a bucket and fill it with cleaning supplies. Each bucket will have a list of suggested supplies in it. Please return the filled buckets to the church by Sunday, April 29.

Spring is here, and with it come graduations and Mother's Day! You can find gifts for these occasions and at the same time support community improvement projects in Guatemala through the spring UPAVIM craft sales.

We will be selling beautiful crafts handmade by the artisans of our church's Guatemalan sister organization, the UPAVIM (United for Better Living) cooperative - colorful bags of all sizes, scarves, kitchen accessories, jewelry, and more.

Please come visit us in the Parlor between services on April 22, April 29, and May 6.

The "Sweet Recipes" Booklet, created from recipes donated by those who attended the Spring Tea 2012 are available for pick up!

If you attended the tea there is no charge. Extra booklets are available for a $2 donation for anyone interested in purchasing one.

You can pick up your copy in the office during the week or on Sundays in the Parlor between services.

There will be an informational meeting for all students (entering the 9th grade in the fall) and parents interested in attending the Senior High Mission Trip this summer on Sunday, April 15 at 10:40AM in the Youth Room. We will be embarking on a journey to Oklahoma the week of July 22-July 28 to serve others! If you are at all interested in attending the trip, you must either attend the meeting or contact Katie Bartholomew (630 968 7120 ext. 203) so we can have a clear idea of the number of people attending.

Please note that the planned screening for the Youth Group of The Passion of Christ on Saturday, April 7, has been cancelled.

Small groups are a great opportunity to meet new people, learn something, and have fun! Please look over the list below and choose the one that’s right for you.

• Book Club 
Read the chosen book at home, then come together as a group to discuss it. We’ll spend 2 weeks on each book; 4 books total.

There will be no Youth Group on April 1st and April 8th. All Youth are encouraged to attend the Chapel Choir Tour Concert at DGFUMC at 4pm on the 1st, and are encouraged to spend time with
their families on April 8th.

PADS is in need of a morning crew supervisor for the first Wed morning of the month. This is a once a month (or every other month, if 2 people come forward) 2-3 hour commitment from 5AM to 8AM Training is available. Contact Diane at [email protected] if you are interested.

Membership Development is pleased to reintroduce our New Member Shepherding Program. What is it you ask? Shepherds will be paired with new church members and will personally welcome and orient them in the first year of their exciting journey as members of our church family. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and introduce them to the friends you already have at DGFUMC.
