What is Water Efficiency?Water efficiency is the smart use of our water resources through water-saving technologies and simple steps we can all take around the house. Using water efficiently will help ensure reliable water supplies today and for future generations.
Church members (those who have taken the Membership Class and joined First United Methodist Church) can take advantage of early registration for next year's Preschool. Children must be either three or four years old by September 1 of 2013, with the classes beginning in early September and ending in the mid-May.
Do you have excess 2013 calendars and do not know what to do with them???
PRC clients would love to have them. Please bring them to the UMW Christmas Tea or you can put them in the church office and we will take them to PRC in Westmont.

There are envelopes in the pews to be used for ordering poinsettias. If you would like to purchase a plant for $15, please fill out the information on the front of the envelope and enclose a check. You may indicate on the envelope if you would like it in memory of someone or in honor of someone. Place your order in the offering plate on Sunday or bring it to the church office.
You may also order your Poinsettia here via Paypal. The price will be $15.00 for the plant and $2.00 for the Paypal service charge. If you choose to order via Paypal and would like your poinsettia in memory or honor of someone please send that information to Sharon in the office.
All orders are due by Sunday, December 16.
Battery Recycling
Advent - our time of waiting and preparing for the birth of Christ - is celebrated by our lighting candles of the Advent wreath during the first four Sundays in December. This year, we look forward to a special service at the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Family Services on December 2, "Do You See What I See?" prepared by the Children and Family Ministries and the Chancel Choir. Carols, stories, and gifts for the children will light our way to the true meanings of our journey to the manger.
The Missions Work Area is leading the way in helping victims of Hurricane Sandy with a $1,000 donation to UMCOR – The United Methodist Committee on Relief. You too can make a donation:

The Giving Tree will be up in the Parlor beginning Sunday, November 11th. You have the opportunity to choose tags from several agencies in order to purchase gifts for both children and adults. The tags are marked with the name or initials of the agency.
All gifts going to PADS should be UNWRAPPED, but with the tag firmly attached.
This tranquil service will be an opportunity to focus in on the peace of Christmastide, offered for all of us through the birth of Jesus. The service will include communion, plus a time to lift up in remembrance those that have been a part of our lives.
Join us at 8:15 on December 2 to be a part of this meaningful service.
What do you buy the person who has everything? How about a goat, a beautiful South American craft, or a share in the aid work being done to help people in more than 100 countries around the world?
We will honor our recently deceased members, or relatives, of the congregation on Sunday, November 4 at all three services; 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 am.
We invite you to send a picture of your deceased loved one to be included in the Power Point presentation. The pictures will be shown on a screen as the names are read.
