In February of 2019, a special General Conference will be held to consider recommendations from the Commission on a Way Forward. This task force studied the Book of Discipline for text that relates to human sexuality and developed a plan to strengthen the unity of the church.

Dr. Osvaldo Vena will continue the study of the Gospel of Mark which began last spring. Osvaldo is a professor of New Testament at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, and author of Jesus, Disciple of the Kingdom: Mark's Christology for a Community in Crisis as well as a member of our congregation.

All are invited to attend the Great Pumpkin Sing Along! Bring your own chair to the Grove Street lot at 6:00 pm on October 20. Be prepared to sing songs and enjoy refreshments around the campfire! No need to sign up, just come!

Are you looking for a new way to get involved at church?

S.O.S. - Share Our Skills meets on the THIRD Saturday of each month to tackle fix-it projects around the church. The group meets at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and then works from 9:00 to Noon.

Only have an hour that day? No problem, just stop in and stay as long as you can. Many hands make light work.

Youth to Cocomero for some Frozen Yogury Goodness after the CROP Walk!

Just plan to meet up at the CROP Walk and work out rides to meet at Cocomero following the Walk.

No child should go to bed hungry.  You can help. Support local hunger agencies and the global hunger relief efforts of Church World Service. Join DGFUMC in the Crop Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 14. Help us reach our goal of 100 walkers and $5,000 raised! MJC is making a donation on behalf of each walker.  If you can't walk, sponsor Pastor Claude, Anna or John Smoke in the Parlor on Sundays.

Can't walk on October 14?  Sponsor the DGFUMC team instead. Every donation helps end hunger and save lives! Stop by the parlor on Sunday to register in person or make a donation.
