Our usual Wednesday evening programs for the whole family are on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic but our children's choirs are still active. Watch our Friday emails for updates.

Typically, on Wednesday evenings, there are programs for the whole family! Children, from pre-Kindergarteners to 8th grade, are invited to join one of the children's choirs that meet from 4:30 p.m. onwards.
There will be a Children’s Choir Orientation Meeting in the sanctuary on Wednesday, September 15 at 5:00 p.m. At the meeting you will get a chance to meet the music staff and to find out more information about the expectations and guidelines for this year of choir. We will rehearse masked indoors, but record outdoors mask free. The recording will then be shown during a coming worship service. The Connection choir will have a short rehearsal following the meeting on September 15. The Angel, Cherub, and Chorister Choirs will rehearse for the first time on September 22.

Family Dinner
This Fall, due to the current situation with Covid-19 and the Delta Variant there will be no family dinners this fall. Hopefully, the vaccine will be available for children early next year so that we can resume our family dinners. Watch the Friday emails for updates.
CANCELLED THIS FALL: Typically, we offer a catered dinner in the Gym from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for families and individuals at the church. Dinner tickets are available on a subscription basis only. There will be two meal subscriptions this year in the fall and spring. All families must register for an entire subscription period. Children 3 and under eat free.

In 1832 Pierce Downer established the settlement soon known as Downers Grove. By 1836 the settlers decided that the 7 mile trip to Cass Church was too far to travel, especially in winter. Reverend Stephen Beggs agreed to add Downers Grove to his circuit and the first Methodist Church was formed, becoming the first organized church in Downers Grove.
