When we think of the term “organic,” many of us believe that healthier cleaning products must also be associated with higher price tags. But, each of us in our own way can begin to make strides to gradually adopt a more organic lifestyle which can minimize our exposure to toxic chemicals, and all without going broke.
Last month we had a special Imagine No Malaria collection on the second Sunday. Students in the 9:30 Sunday School poured their IMN cans' coins into the giant jar during the opening time in the Chapel, and families at the 11:00 Messy Church did the same in the gym.
The DGFUMC Missions Work Area recently made a $1,000 donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank as part of September – Hunger Action Month. That donation will enable $8,000 worth of food for our neighbors.
A new study by the Food Bank and Feeding America shows that nearly 600,000 people in northern Illinois turn to food pantries and meal programs to feed themselves and their families – 71,000 people each week.

The Downers Grove Criterium bike race will be held on Sunday, July 27. With this wonderful event comes road closures for the area. Beginning at approximately 5:00 a.m. and continuing through the day, Main St, Maple Ave, Lane Pl, Summit St, Washington St and Curtiss St in downtown will be closed to traffic. When attending worship service that morning, you will need to access the parking lot from Grove Street.
