Worship

Chancel Choir Cantata

This service will feature the annual Spring Chancel Choir Cantata, Gabriel Faure's Requiem featuring a guest orchestra. All children from Kindergarten through 8th grade start in the Sanctuary for worship and follow Pastor Smoke to Sunday School after the Moment for Children.

Messy Church

Messy Church is a new kind of service on the second Sunday of the month for parents and children to share. There will be a time to make crafts as a family, a short (and lively) time of gathering, and a family friendly lunch. This time will be about building community along with thinking about that greater power that is creator and love of all. It takes place in the church gym.

Spring Children's Cantata

This service will feature the Children's Choirs for their annual Spring Cantata. This year, it is A Not So Terrible Parable – The Mysterious Whodunit about the Good Samaritan. Come and enjoy as the children bring to life the well-known story of The Good Samaritan as a fun, over-the-top whodunit. Clues lead the kids to discover again just how far our Savior would go to rescue helpless sinners.

Confirmation Service

At this service, we will welcome our 2017 Confirmands into our church family. After the Moment for Children, children may either return to their families for worship or go with Pastor John Smoke to Sunday School. Preschool children will be in the nursery. Kindergarten through 5th grade will return to the Sanctuary during the final hymn.

Easter Worship Service

This service of hymns, prayers, scripture readings and a sermon is held in the Sanctuary. The Chancel Choir, led by Diane Hires, and a Brass Ensemble, directed by Pattie Barnes, will perform inspirational music glorifying God and the Risen Christ. There will be a special message for children by Pastor John Smoke.

Service of Holy Communion

This service of hymns, prayers, scripture readings and a sermon is held in the Sanctuary, with special music performed by the Chancel Choir. There will be a children's sermon by Pastor John Smoke, following which children may return to worship with their family. Because of Messy Church, there will be no Sunday School at this service.
