The second Saturday in September is traditionally a church wide Share Our Skills (S.O.S.) event when members are encouraged to come between 8:30 a.m. and noon to help spruce up the church before Rally Day.
This coming Saturday, September 12, we need crews for both inside and outside jobs. Those who want to work inside can help give the sanctuary a thorough cleaning and help move some furniture. Those who want to enjoy the cooler outside temperatures can help spruce up the pre-school playground. Toys and playground equipment need cleaning, weeds need pulling, grass needs trimming and mulch needs spreading.
This is a great opportunity for church families and friends to join together for a time of fellowship in a meaningful way and for students to earn service hours,
We’ll gather in the parlor at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, orange juice and pastries and then get started on the projects at 9:00. If you can’t help for the entire morning, come when you can and leave when you must.
Cleaning supplies will be provided for those in the sanctuary, but an additional portable shop vac would be helpful. Those working in the playground may want to bring a rake, trimmers or other appropriate tools. Gloves will be provided.
