Is our church ACCESSIBLE?
On Sunday, November 9, which is Accessibility Awareness Sunday in the Northern Illinois Conference, we have an opportunity to learn just how accessible our church buildings are and possibilities to make them even better. As our congregation is aging, we need to be aware of the barriers, both physical and mental, that prevent people from sharing in our community of faith. With our elevator currently out of service, this is a very timely discussion.
Ms. Lynn Swedberg, consultant to the UMC Committee on Disability Ministries & editor/writer of the Voice of the Disability Connection newsletter, will be with us to facilitate a discussion on this vital subject. Please join the conversation.
