Did you ever desire to communicate to a Spanish speaking neighbor, co-worker or volunteer, but you can’t even speak a few simple words or phrases in Spanish? Now is your opportunity to learn Spanish so you can communicate in a simple way to them.
Spanish as a Second language is a six week course that is sponsored by the Northern Illinois Conference and our very own Church & Society Work Area. FUMC is happy to host this SSL Class beginning March 12 - April 23, Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class is designed for adults only and is a fun, interactive learning experience. The class focuses on what unifies us as Christians and helps us build bridges with our neighbors. You will learn at least 100 Spanish words, a few hymns, the story of the Good Samaritan and the Lord’s Prayer.
There is no cost for the class, but a suggested donation is $20 to cover the teacher’s honorarium and travel expenses. A small portion can be donated each week! Sign-up today online at www.umcnic.org/ssl or in the church office.
